FREE Shredding Event October 2
Recycle Ann Arbor will offer a free secure document shredding event on October 2, 2010. This event is open to all residents and businesses in Wasthenaw County, and is being co-sponsored by Allshred Services. There is a 100-pound limit for all customers. Click here for more information.

Drop-Off Station Has 97% Customer Satisfaction
A recent survey of Drop-Off Station customers indicates that 97.6 percent of customers are either "very satisfied" or "satisfied" with the service received at the Drop-Off Station. This is the third customer satisfaction score of more than 97 percent in three consecutive years. Click here for more information about the survey.
Single-Stream Recycling Is Coming in July!
Single-stream recycling allows residents and businesses to put all their recyclable materials into one, convenient wheeled recycling cart. All plastic bottles and tubs, except #3 and Styrofoam, will be accepted under the new program. Free recycling carts are being delivered to all Ann Arbor residents and participating non-residential locations over a 6-8 week period starting Monday, July 5.

Drop-Off Station Announces Entry Fee
The Drop-Off Station will beging charging a $3.00 per vehicle entry fee beginning Saturday, January 2, 2010. The entry fee is necessary to ensure the continuing operation of the the Drop-Off Station, following the end of funding support from Washtenaw County, the City of Ann Arbor, and Pittsfield Township. Customers may save with discounted multiple-use punch cards or unlimited yearly passes. Click here for more information
Drop-Off Station to Close Mondays Beginning November 2
The Drop-Off Station will change to winter hours of operation beginning the week of November 2. The Drop-Off Station will be closed on Monday, open Tuesday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., and Wednesday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Click here for more information.

Recycle Ann Arbor announces the third annual Earth Day Essay Contest for students in 5th and 6th grades, ages 10-12, who attend school in Washtenaw County. First prize is a $500 U.S. Savings Bond. Five runner-up prizes will also be awarded!
The deadline is March 31, 2009.

MPSC Awards $50,000 Grant to RAA
The Michigan Public Service Commission has awarded Recycle Ann Arbor a $50,000 grant to provide home energy assessments to Ann Arbor homes, and to offer access to energy improvement loans based on the findings. Click here for details.
