Single-Stream Recycling Began July 5th!
Single-stream recycling allows residents and businesses to put all their recyclable materials into one, convenient wheeled recycling cart. All plastic bottles and tubs, except #3 and Styrofoam, are accepted under the new program. Delivery of recycling carts to all Ann Arbor residents and participating non-residential locations has begun, and will continue through August.

Bank of Ann Arbor Receives Recycling Leadership Award
Recycle Ann Arbor has presented Bank of Ann Arbor with the Business Recycling Leadership Award for all six of its locations.The award recognizes outstanding recycling and sustainability efforts on the part of Ann Arbor businesses. Click here for more information
Administrative Office Temporarily Relocates
Recycle Ann Arbor's administrative office has temporarily relocated, while the owner of the 2420 S. Industrial Hwy. building renovates the offices. The temporary office is two buildings south, at 2460 S. Industrial Hwy. The ReUse Center will remain open and will not be affected. Residents may also pick up recycling bins from the ReUse Center.
FREE Shredding Event October 2
Recycle Ann Arbor's next free secure document shredding event is Saturday, October 2, 2010, at the Drop-Off Station. The event is open to all residents and businesses in Wasthenaw County, and is being co-sponsored by Allshred Services. There is a 100-pound limit for all customers. Click here for more information.

Drop-Off Station Has 97% Customer Satisfaction
A recent survey of Drop-Off Station customers indicates that 97.6 percent of customers are either "very satisfied" or "satisfied" with the service received at the Drop-Off Station. This is the third customer satisfaction score of more than 97 percent in three consecutive years. Click here for more information about the survey.

Drop-Off Station Announces Entry Fee
The Drop-Off Station will beging charging a $3.00 per vehicle entry fee beginning Saturday, January 2, 2010. The entry fee is necessary to ensure the continuing operation of the the Drop-Off Station, following the end of funding support from Washtenaw County, the City of Ann Arbor, and Pittsfield Township. Customers may save with discounted multiple-use punch cards or unlimited yearly passes. Click here for more information.
Rechargeable Battery Ends Must Be Taped
To meet new U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) standards, the positive ends of rechargeable batteries must be taped with clear tape and stored in a plastic bag. This includes rechargeable batteries recycled at the curb in the City of Ann Arbor, or at the Drop-Off Station. Click here for more information.
MPSC Awards RAA $3.5 Million Grant
The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) has awarded Recycle Ann Arbor $3.5 million in Michigan Energy Efficiency Grant funding to conduct energy audits, install renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies consisting of wind and/or solar, and provide the associated curriculum at educational institutions statewide. Environmental House Shares Pfizer Grant
The Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation announced on March 20 that the Ecology Center, Recycle Ann Arbor, and the City of Ann Arbor would receive one of the final "big idea" grants funded by the Pfizer Foundation. The $58,000 grant will be used to develop a low-cost way for homeowners and area businesses to improve energy efficiency.
MPSC Awards $50,000 Grant to RAA
The Michigan Public Service Commission has awarded Recycle Ann Arbor a $50,000 grant to provide home energy assessments to Ann Arbor homes, and to offer access to energy improvement loans based on the findings. Click here for details.

The Drop Off Station accepts #2 and #4 plastic grocery, newspaper
and dry cleaning bags for recycling. The bags must be clean, dry and free
of debris, including receipts, before recycling due to the high sensitivity
