Unacceptable Items
Staff may refuse any item based on condition, saleability and inventory. Garage sale leftovers are not accepted.

Condition of Item: anything broken, damaged, mildewed or excessively soiled is not accepted
These Home Goods: clothing, toys, cribs, strollers, car seats, fluorescent bulbs, ceiling tile
These Building Materials: shower doors, lumber less than 4’ long, nail-fitted/twisted/rotted wood, sheet goods less than half original size, non-tempered glass storm doors, doors with suspected lead paint
These Appliances: drum style humidifiers, dehumidifiers, air conditioners
These Automotive Items: all tires, batteries, engine parts, oil and fluids
These Furniture Items: metal desks, office cubicles, single non-upholstered chairs
These Electronics: black and white TVs, non-cable ready TVs, older computers (see Computer Acceptance Policy), fax machines, computer printers and scanners

All items listed above can be recycled or disposed of at the Washtenaw County Drop-Off Station, operated by Recycle Ann Arbor, at 2950 East Ellsworth Road. For more information, call (734) 971-7400 or visit the Drop-Off Station page for a complete list of acceptable materials.

The ReUse Center does not accept household hazardous materials, such as flammable liquids, toxic waste, chemicals, paint, used thermostats, used smoke detectors, or thermometers.

Household hazardous materials may be disposed of at Washtenaw County Home Toxic Center, located on Zeeb Road just north of I-94.
