What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide

Air pillow, plastic packaging cushion

Deflated plastic air pillows that are used for cushioning in packages are accepted for recycling at our Drop-Off Station. The Recovery Yard accepts them as general trash (not to be recycled.)

Recycle Right!

Do not put plastic air pillows in your curbside recycling bin. Flexible plastics like these get wound up in the gears of the machinery at the Materials Recovery Facility (the facility where your recyclables get sorted by material type). These flexible plastics can cause jams in the machinery, resulting in damage and often in the facility turning off machinery so workers can climb out and cut the bags out of the gears.

Live Zero Waste!

Minimize online shopping when possible.

Reach out to the entity you are ordering from and request that they send your order plastic free.

Reuse air pillows for storage of fragile items.
