Ann Arbor Curbside Recycling accepts #1 (PET), #2 (HDPE), and #5 (PP) plastic bottles, containers, and tubs in the curbside recycling bins. Screw on lids are allowed and should be secured on bottles. Flat snap on lids are not allowed in the curbside recycling bin. All containers, bottles, and tubs should be empty and dry.

Step 1
All recyclable items should be washed, rinsed, and clean of all particulates of food and any liquid residue before placing them into the curbside bin.
Step 2
Remove caps and lids and discard into the trash.
Step 3
Residential curbside carts must be placed at the curb before 7 a.m. of the collection day.

When first arriving on-site, stop at the gatehouse to have your materials assessed and pay the appropriate fee (if applicable). price list for full details

The gatehouse staff will give you direction as to where your items should be placed.
Step 3
Often you are required to visit several different areas and receptacles.

*SEASONAL NOTICE - during the winter season, the following items cannot be accepted after 5 pm due to lighting and safety concerns: scrap metal, general waste, bulky waste, furniture, yard waste, or concrete.
