Curbside recycling pick-up will be delayed by one day, with routes running Thursday through Saturday both weeks.

Boost Reuse

At Recycle Ann Arbor, we recognize that recycling alone is not enough to achieve zero waste, so we have created the Boost Reuse program to focus on reuse and repair at a local level. Boost Reuse aims to reduce and divert materials headed toward the landfill by moving materials up the zero waste hierarchy. Our goal is to develop and promote reuse programs at the Drop-Off Station and Recovery Yard, aligning with our community-based zero waste action mission.

We track the materials collected, sorted, and processed at our zero waste Material Recovery Facility (MRF). In 2023, the total amount of materials was 22,898 tons! We then used the EPA's WARM model to calculate the carbon emissions conserved. The results are in, and we want to extend a big thanks to our community for your efforts in reducing, reusing, and recycling. These efforts make an impact.

Our MRF positively impacts our environment, promotes our local economy, and provides a greater community benefit.

Our MRF is a hub for our region– providing much-needed services throughout Washtenaw County and helping move us toward a regional approach to recycling. As a hub for the greater community, we are fostering resilient and sustainable end markets for our materials.
