What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide

Exercise equipment

Exercise equipment, such as free weights, treadmills, stationary bikes, rowing machines, elliptical trainers, home gyms, gym accessories etc., that are gently used, clean, and in good usable condition, are accepted for donation at locations throughout the A2 Area Reuse Network. Broken, unusable exercise equipment that contains at least 60% metal is accepted as scrap metal for recycling at the Drop-Off Station and Recovery Yard.

Recycle Right!

Do not put scrap metal in curbside recycling carts. These large and irregular pieces of metal can jam up the machinery, causing damage and delays and creating unsafe conditions for our workers. Scrap metal could also contaminate an entire load of recyclables, turning them into trash and not recycled. Metal can be infinitely recycled without losing quality, so please recycle metal items properly instead of throwing them in the trash.

Choose Zero Waste!

Try to repair broken equipment first. Donating unwanted but still usable items instead of throwing them away or recycling them is the best way to ensure they get reused!

While we do our best to stay updated on alternative reuse and recycling locations, we recommend that you call locations before taking your item(s) to confirm that they currently accept them.
