What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide

Microwaves

Microwave ovens that are gently used, clean, and in good usable condition are accepted for donation at locations throughout the A2 Area Reuse Network. Microwaves that are broken and not repairable are accepted for recycling at the Drop-Off Station and Recovery Yard.

Recycle Right!

Do not put appliances of any kind in your curbside recycling cart. Bulky appliances damage equipment and create unsafe conditions for our workers. Microwaves need to be free of any food debris in order to be recycled.

Choose Zero Waste!

Try to repair your appliances before replacing them. Repair services and resources are available in and around Washtenaw County, such as All Hands Active. If not possible, donating unwanted but still usable items instead of throwing them away or recycling them is the best way to ensure they get reused!

While we do our best to stay updated on alternative reuse and recycling locations, we recommend that you call locations before taking your item(s) to confirm that they currently accept them.
