What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide

Cookware, pots and pans

Cookware, pots, and pans that are gently used, clean, and in good to excellent usable condition are accepted for donation at locations throughout the A2 Area Reuse Network. Metal cookware, pots, and pans that are unusable are accepted as scrap metal for recycling at the Drop-Off Station and Recovery Yard. Non-stick cookware is not recyclable due to the PTFE coating. Glass pot and pan lids are also not recyclable and not accepted at the Drop-Off Station and Recovery Yard.

Recycle Right!

Do not put scrap metal in curbside recycling carts. These large and irregular pieces of metal can jam up the machinery, causing damage and delays and creating unsafe conditions for our workers. Scrap metal could also contaminate an entire load of recyclables, turning them into trash and not recycled.

Choose Zero Waste!

Try to find another use for cookware in your home, if not possible, donating unwanted but still usable items instead of throwing them away or recycling them is the best way to ensure they get reused!

While we do our best to stay updated on alternative reuse and recycling locations, we recommend that you call locations before taking your item(s) to confirm that they currently accept them.
