Paperback books that are in good, sellable condition are accepted at the ReUse Center. Paperback books that need to be recycled are accepted in your curbside recycling bins, the Drop-Off Station, and the Recovery Yard.
Paperback books can go in your Ann Arbor curbside recycling bins, but hardback books cannot!

All recyclable items should be washed, rinsed, and clean of all particulates of food and any liquid residue before placing them into the curbside bin.
Remove caps and lids and discard into the trash.
Residential curbside carts must be placed at the curb before 7 a.m. of the collection day.
When first arriving on-site, stop at the gatehouse to have your materials assessed and pay the appropriate fee (if applicable).

The gatehouse staff will give you direction as to where your items should be placed.
Often you are required to visit several different areas and receptacles.

Items for donating need to be in good, reusable condition. No torn, stained, or broken items will be accepted.
Simply follow the pavement arrows through the gates and look for the friendly ReUse staff and volunteers in bright-colored vests. Unloading and loading assistance is often available.
