What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide

Cellular phones

Cell/mobile phones, & iPhones that are gently used and in good usable condition are accepted for donation at some locations throughout the A2 Area Reuse NetworkCell phones that are broken and not repairable are accepted for recycling as e-waste at the Drop-Off Station.

Recycle Right!

Do not put cell phones in your curbside recycling cart or trash. Electronics are made up of various materials such as glass, plastic, and metal, and often contain hazardous materials. Electronics must be collected separately to ensure proper disassembly and recycling of their component parts. Cell phone batteries can cause fires, damage equipment, and create unsafe conditions for our workers.

Choose Zero Waste!

Try to repair your cell phone before replacing it. Repair services and resources are available in and around Washtenaw County, such as All Hands Active.

Other Places Electronics are Accepted for Recycling:

  1. Staples accepts many different electronics for recycling at in-store drop-off locations
  2. Best Buy accepts many different electronics for recycling at in-store drop-off locations

While we do our best to stay updated on alternative reuse and recycling locations, we recommend that you call locations before taking your item(s) to confirm that they currently accept them.
