What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide
Metal cleaner
Metal cleaners, such as metal polish, contain hazardous chemicals. If a container has the words caution, warning, danger, or poison on the label and still has product inside, it is considered hazardous and does not belong in the trash. Metal cleaners and polishes are only accepted at Washtenaw County's Home Toxics disposal site.
Recycle Right!
Since metal cleaners contain various hazardous chemicals, these cleaners and containers are not accepted for recycling at any Recycle Ann Arbor division.
Choose Zero Waste!
If you can't use up all of your metal cleaner, consider giving it to a friend or neighbor. To minimize environmental impact, opt for non-toxic cleaning products or make your own.

Recycle Ann Arbor only accepts a very limited number of toxic materials. Washtenaw County’s Home Toxics Reduction Program provides the county residents with a disposal option for the rest of these products.
