What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide

Paper Cups

Most disposable paper cups and coffee cups are lined with a thin layer of wax or plastic to make them waterproof. If the paper cup is coated in plastic or wax, it is not recyclable and not accepted in curbside recycling carts or at the Drop-Off Station or Recovery Yard. Non-coated paper cups are accepted for recycling.

Recycle Right!

Do not put plastic-coated paper/coffee cups in your curbside recycling cart. The plastic coating will contaminate the paper or cardboard recyclables, causing them to become trash instead of being recycled. You can identify plastic-coated paper by its shiny appearance on one or both sides.

Choose Zero Waste!

Bring a reusable cup or mug the next time you visit your favorite coffee shop. Reusing is the best alternative to single-use plastic and other disposable cups.
