What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide
Egg cartons, paper
Paper egg cartons are accepted for recycling in curbside recycling carts and at the Drop-Off Station and Recovery Yard. Under the right conditions paper egg cartons are compostable.
Recycle Right!
Egg cartons must be empty, clean, and dry. If composting, make sure you shred or tear it into smaller pieces so it decomposes more quickly.
Choose Zero Waste!
Paper egg cartons are a more sustainable option compared to single-use plastic egg cartons. You can donate empty egg cartons to farmers at your local Farmers Market. Egg cartons can be repurposed in various ways, such as using them for seed starters, as storage for smaller items like buttons, beads, screws, or small jewelry. They can also be used for arts and crafts projects or as packing material instead of bubble wrap.

The city offers single-family residential properties one free 64- or 96-gallon compost cart. Larger carts and commercial composting are available for a fee.
