What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide

Pizza Box

Pizza boxes are only accepted in curbside recycling carts and at the Drop-Off Station and Recovery Yard if they are free of grease and food waste. Pizza boxes are often too greasy to recycle with other cardboard and will contaminate them. Before recycling, inspect your pizza box, remove any food waste, and only recycle the parts that are free of grease and food waste. Pizza boxes can be composted and placed in the compost bin, no matter how greasy.

Recycle Right!

Follow these simple rules when recycling your pizza box:

  1. Remove the liner (often the greasiest part) and throw this part away
  2. Visually inspect the box for grease and food waste and remove any food waste
  3. Flatten the clean, empty cardboard pizza box and recycle it in your curbside bin or at the Drop-Off Station
