Volunteer: Earth Day Festival!
Sunday, April 23, 2017 - 11:30 am - 3:30 pm
Do you enjoy interacting with the public and attending community festivals? Join the Zero Waste Team at area events to educate the public about recycling, composting and waste reduction.
Our upcoming Zero Waste event needs help at the Earth Day Festival on Sun, April 23rd (12-4pm). Shifts are 2hrs in length and will be 11:30am-1:30pm and 1:30-3:30pm. Please specify which shift you are interested in when you contact us. Must be 18 or older. Email [email protected] if interested.
This event is at the beautiful Leslie Science and Nature Center- 1831 Traver Rd., Ann Arbor.
During the event, volunteers will be stationed at the three-bin Zero Waste stations to educate patrons and assist them in sorting waste into the correct receptacles for compost, recyclables, or trash. Most importantly we want you to HAVE FUN!
Thanks to past volunteer success, our events have been able to achieve zero waste and divert (on average) 92% of the waste from the landfill!
*Upon expressing your interest, we will send you back a confirmation email for the shift you specify. Closer to the event you will receive important volunteer information, logistics, and the meeting locations.
