Power has been restored, and the Drop-Off Station is OPEN Saturday, September 5. All divisions of RAA will be closed on Monday, September 7th, to observe the Labor Day holiday. There will be no Curbside Pick-Up recycling collection on this day. Curbside pick-up will be shifted by one day and run Tuesday through Saturday.
What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide
Yard Sign, metal frame
The metal “H” frame of a yard sign is accepted for recycling as scrap metal at the Drop-Off Station and Recovery Yard, but it must first be disassembled from the sign. The sign itself is not recyclable because it is typically made of corrugated plastic or poly-coated paper (coated with plastic to make it waterproof) and is not accepted in curbside recycling carts or at the Drop-Off Station or Recovery Yard.
Recycle Right!
Do not put wire in curbside recycling carts. They can jam up the machinery, causing damage and delays and creating unsafe conditions for our workers. Plastic-coated paper cannot be recycled. The plastic coating can contaminate the paper recyclables, causing them to become trash instead of being recycled. You can identify plastic-coated paper by its shiny appearance on one or both sides.
Choose Zero Waste!
You can reuse the same sign with a new message by painting over it for a different purpose, such as a garage sale notice or a lemonade stand sign. You can also paint over it again using chalkboard paint! Corrugated plastic signs are durable and waterproof, making them ideal for covering outdoor furniture, buckets, and more.
