What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide

Wood Pallets

Usable and structurally sound pallets are accepted at the Drop-Off Station and Recovery Yard for reuse. Damaged, untreated, and unpainted wood pallets are accepted at the Drop-Off Station and Recovery Yard for recycling.

Treated wood is not recyclable.

Recycle Right!

Untreated lumber must be clean and free of nails, staples, etc, in order to be composted with other clean wood. Read Recycling Tips for Better Results: What to Do with Wood. Do not put any type of lumber/wood in your curbside recycling cart. Wood can damage equipment and create unsafe conditions for our workers.

Choose Zero Waste!

Reuse or repurpose wood pallets first by thinking creatively about their potential uses in your home. If repurposing isn’t an option, please drop off usable wood pallets to ensure they can be reused over and over again, read It’s a new day at the Drop-Off Station! for more information about our reusable pallet initiative. Composting as a last step is one of the best ways to eliminate waste in your community!
