No. Recycle Ann Arbor is an independent non-profit and receives no municipal funding. Where do the proceeds go? Proceeds support our Zero Waste and recycling outreach programs. Are you hiring? Cash and all major credit cards. Does the ReUse Center sell gift cards? Yes. Inquire at the front counter. Does the ReUse Center have a senior discount program? No. We do have a frequent buyer program. Do you offer charge accounts for business or non-profit customers? No. Can I buy something over the phone? Yes. What if I can't take my purchase with me? We will hold your item for three days. Alternatively, we offer a delivery service for a fee based on item and delivery location. Can items be placed on hold? Yes. We will "hold" an item for the day you visit our store. Do you test all electrical items? Unfortunately, no, given the amount of merchandise we receive. We do provide a testing area where you can test the item before your purchase. There is also a one week return policy on electrical items with receipt. What is Urbanwood? Click here and here. Can purchased items be returned? Electrical and mechanical merchandise can be returned within one week of purchase with receipt. Can the ReUse Center deliver my purchases? Yes, for a fee. Fees depend on merchandise and delivery location. How are prices determined? We do our best to assign merchandise fair market value through experience and internet searches. Why is sales tax charged on used merchandise? In Michigan, any business that sells tangible personal property to an end user from a Michigan location must collect sales tax. Can customers barter to get a better deal? Yes, but not always. Why is some of the merchandise unpriced? It is not our intention to have any merchandise unpriced. We are thankful to receive a lot of donations and some merchandise gets by our staff without being priced. If you have a question on price, please see one of our staff members. When can I donate items? You can donate items Tuesday - Friday 10am-5pm; Saturday 10am-4pm; Sunday 11am-2pm Are donations tax-deductible? Yes. You will receive a tax deduction form. What type of items do you accept? We accept many items, but that can change depending on such things as inventory, for example. For the latest information on what is and isn't accepted, click here. It is always a good idea to call first if you are unsure, 734-222-7880. Will you pick up donations at my house? Free pick ups are available by appointment on Mondays. Please send pictures of the items you would like picked up to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will respond within 24 hours whether we are interested or not. If not, we will propose other donation outlets. Does the ReUse Center purchase items for resale? No. Why are items rejected for donation? There can be a variety of reasons, like condition, quality, obsolescence and/or safety. What should I do with my items if the center will not accept them? You can try other thrift stores such as the PTO Thrift Shop, Salvation Army, and ReStore for example. We also accept many items for proper disposal or recycling at our Drop Off Station.
